Woe is me! What happended to "Str8 Jock Talking"??
Damn! I don't know who keeps playing with my fellow blogger, Scott at "Str8 Jock Talking", but his 2nd blog has been removed!! He's a VERY funny and sarcastic straight/curious guy, who talks about being a married man who experiments with men sexually. I wasn't sure about him at first, but his blogs were actually in the Top 5 of blogs I read regularly and loved to read. So whoever kept complaining about him - or who had a hand in his being removed from Blogger (AGAIN!) - Shame on you! If you didn't like his blog, don't fucking read it! Arrrgh, shit like this pisses me off! I sure hope he starts another blog.

I was shocked to find his blog missing as well. I'm hoping it was his choice to terminate the blog versus his wife finding out or the site being removed for being objectionable.

ReplyDeleteIs one of a kind. He has no peers. He sure made a difference in this world for a lot of people. One day, I hope to that our paths will meet.
Over the last week, there were lots of questions posted on Str8jocktalking regarding the authenticity of Scott. I'm betting he just got pissed off and deleted the blog.

ReplyDeleteScott is a real person. We exchanged email during the summer and he was exactly the same guy in his email as on his blog. Sent an email asking what's up, but no response yet.
ReplyDeleteWhere's str8jocktalking? I'm worried that his family or work found the blog. I feel sick and anxious about it but I of couse can't talk about it with anyone. "Oh.. I'm a little down honey cuz the blog I usually read about married men messing around with other guys is gone suddenly and I'm really worried about the person on the other side but can't contact him anymore." Scott- hope everything is good. If someone got your blog trashed again, they are evil evil evil people. Wow your blog is the only one I've ever been this sentimental about you must be a special person! I'll be checking Mattchoo's blog regularly to catch up with Mattchoo and the latest on Scott and Str8.
ReplyDeleteIsn't is possible that Scott got himself into trouble? If he's real (and I don't think he is) he was doing a horrible thing cheating on his wife, and deceiving his family. Exposing his wife to STD's & god knows what else.
ReplyDeleteI read the blog a few times, and I never bought the fact that he was real. There have been other "fake" blogs, namely the one supposedly written by a gay teen hockey player in Minnesota. That one turned to be written by a 40 something guy, just out to get some jollies.
Sorry to be such a pessimist, but I just never bought a supposed straight, married guy so into gay porn and gay sex.

Does seem to be a weird coincidence that he announced he was going to be gone for a week...and then his blog disappears.
ReplyDeleteIf he wanted to pull the blog offline permanently, it sure would have been a good time to do that - meaning, everyone expected him to be gone on vacation for a while anyway, so why not just... never come back?
Okay Scott, it's Monday morning and in a few hours you'll be back to work and discover the page is kaput, again. That's what I'm thinking. Check email. I'm in there plus a lot of other people probably. Eventually you'll Google yourself and find "Confessions of a Dumbass: Woe is me! What happended to Str8 Jock ..." which is where we are, 4th result down. You're up ...
ReplyDeleteI heard from Scott this morning. He definitely didn't pull the blog by his choice. He said he's going to try and get it up and running again.
ReplyDeleteAlthough a number of gay blogs have been pulled by blogger, its also something hitting other types of blogs. There was a recent article in Europe about music blogs being pulled by blogger and another one in South American that were about fashion.
ReplyDeleteAccording to the reports, there are a few main reasons why a blog is pulled:
1. If you are a link farm.
2. The primary purpose of the blog is to make money.
3. Copyright infringment
4. Complaints
5. Under age photos, if you are an "adult" type blog.
In the US, it has been well publicized the last few weeks that several of the pay sites are actively pursuing bloggers that publish their photos and videos without permission or paying for them. I know Scott, as well as many others, post photos that do have the studios name on them. Perhaps it was this?
I also heard about another site, that was yanked a few weeks ago due to several "problematic" pictures, meaning if they were not child porn, they certainly looked like. I sent Scott, and a few others, emails saying that they should remove the link. After all, better safe then sorry. Who knows, maybe the links did it.
Anyway, the moral of the story, watch what you post, especially studio pictures. One studio has even begun suing bloggers!

ReplyDeleteAnother theory .. it occurred to me that a writer of some of the more negative comments, or more than one, could have complained about the site. Frankly, I hardly glance at the pictures on reading sites now that there is ample pern everywhere. They are not what draw me there, or here for that matter.

ReplyDeleteKnowing how much Google loves automation, i.e., untouched by human minds, it makes me wonder if some Westboro-types have figured out how to run a bot to fool Goog into closing certain blogs. Check out Jeff & Brent's site (two comments above) and be amazed at how many there have been. I checked a few that had been restored and found them pretty mild actually. Rick

ReplyDeleteJust an FYI to you guys: I emailed Scott, and he's said he is DEFINITELY going to start a new blog. He's been busy, and tried to get Blogger to restart his old one, but it's looking like he'll start a new one. Any more news he sends my way, I'll keep you all posted.
