Can you imagine that there's a children's book circulating around called "Who Will Toss My Salad?"?! It's amazing what you can find on the world wide web - and HYSTERICAL that this title has taken on a whole new meaning nowadays!! I'm still laughing at the absurdity....
Random House has withdrawn the book from sale. So, unless a bookseller missed or ignored the recall notice, don't expect to find a copy of the book in either online or bricks-and-mortar bookstores. Used bookstores are a possibility, but probably not eBay as there may be legal entanglements reselling the book. It would be a hoot to have a copy. If I had known about the book in time to buy one, I would have framed it and hung it on a wall.
ReplyDeleteTantalus - thanks for the info! And I agree 100% - I'd frame it and hang it too!
ReplyDeletesorry, didn't get this. is there a double-meaning here? Not from the states.
ReplyDeleteThere is DEFINITELY a double-meaning! This is a slang term for having your ass eaten. So, saying "Who wants to toss my salad" means "Who wants to eat my ass?". LOL. In the south, they also refer to it as "cleaning the kitchen".
ReplyDeleteIf you check the barcoded and the ISBN number, you will see that the real title is "How does your Garden Grow" this is really good photoshopping.. but real or not, I would frame this on my wall as well.

It never occurred to me that this is a Photoshopped book cover. I checked the Random House and Amazon sites for the title, didn't find it, and assumed it's a real book that was withdrawn after people complained. But checking further after the post from Caithlas, I see it's actually the cover of an out-of-print book from 1985 with one difference: a new title substituted for the original "How Does Your Garden Grow?" The source appears to be a January 25, 2011 post on the blog yourpuritanicaldream.tumblr.com. Too bad it wasn't a real book. It's like those fake photos of actors and athletes showing their humongously meaty dicks. Or do they all have humongously big and meaty dicks?
