This week at work, a co-worker started talking about how much she LOVES the Real Housewives of New Jersey. So, being that I hate everything about those uncouth, disgusting, reprehensible, skanks, I felt the need to put my two cents into the conversation. I hate that Bravo has made these women - these disgusting examples of everything that is bad and wrong with our society - into minor (VERY minor) celebrities. They are all hopeless - and very difficult to watch. I always get somewhat nauseous when I see a preview of a future show. As I type this, the Reunion show for the Jersey wives just started - I had to turn the TV off because the worst of all of them - that low-foreheaded, low-class Theresa - started on a rant about something so incredibly stupid that I could feel my brain cells just dying!! I mean, who do these idiots think they are?? Before the show, they were nobodies! In my eyes, they still are - but you can't pass a bad magazine as the check-out aisles of stores without seeing one of their faces on the cover. Ugh. It makes me shake with anger that these shows are still being watched. Of them all, the only one I've ever watched - and been entertained by - is the Housewives of Atlanta. At least when you watch that show, you're guaranteed that one of them (more often than any of the others, it's Nene) will say something so hysterical that you laugh out loud. Sure, they're as delusional as the others, but at least they're entertaining. That being said, I just want all of them to go away somewhere. Some remote island - far, far away. There are a lot of other shows that I think need to disappear as well (Survivor, the Amazing Race, Big Brother, etc) - but let's just start with the "Real" Housewives. They should all be ashamed of themselves. Except for Nene. LOL
I hate those shows and the so called "reality" aspect. Its just a bunch of rich/trustfund/I married rich bitches who complain alot.

I'm watching this damn show right now, cuz my gf loves it. I despise every version of this show. It is so staged, yet my gf doesn't seem to realize or doesn't care that it's fake. It makes me want to throw the tv out the window. Die bitches, die!

These people have no idea about reality! Take their trust funds and their insignificant, selfpleasing "careers" away and they have nothing! Scum like this can only be reveared in a classless, Godless society.

ReplyDeleteJust watched NJ and its as bad as NY with women who can't sing and think they can (although this Melissa chick is WAY better than the fake, old countess chick on NY). Then FUGLY kids who can't dance too!!!!

It is sad and not right! Why would anyone care about them? The first two seasons might have been entertaining, but now they all have PR managers telling them what to say and to do, how to make themself look good and push their brands ( like books, songs or whatever these talentless people are trying to do)
Come on people, you can't really tell me that these people are your role models and that you find them inspiring and creative. If yes, you should get out more!
They make so much money and don't care about the people who watch the show. They care about numbers/ratings.
I live in europe and we have these kind of shows as well. Before I studied art, I studied psychology and I wrote an essay about reality TV/ reality stars. I tried to understand these people and their motivations, but came to the (obvious) sad conclusion that they all just want their
15 minutes of fame. These people are not special, they are special in making us believe that they are.
(and the TV stations make them look glamourous.
They live in a superficail bubble...We should start caring about our own lifes instead of feeling sorry for reality stars or other celebs. They have enough and most of them don't know how to appreciate real things anymore. Look at their giant houses...who has to have so much space? I'm an artist and live in a large loft, but I share it and also work there and bust my behind to pay for it. I always had to work hard in life, since I was 15. Without any help from my parents or others.
But all this hard work made me appreciate things and life.
Easy come, easy go! I believe that you have to earn your money.
Start to care about the real heroes around you. People in your community that do great things and never get recognized for it.
Come on, we are human beings and need our neighbours/ community/ friends/ coworkers, but not far away TV people to look up to! Greetings from Germany!
I hate the way the RH of Nj and all the other show portray nj people as obnoxious and entitled asses. Some of us have a conscious and don't care what other people think of ourselves. I hate reality tv it makes you look like ass! I only postd anonymous bar cause it's easy
