Gaylord Hotel at National Harbor, DC

Tomorrow, I'll be heading to a work conference at the Gaylord Hotel in the suburbs of DC, on the Potomac River. I can't wait! Judging from the photos above, it's an amazing hotel, with an 18-story high atrium!! It's located in a new shopping area called National Harbor, which has tons of shopping and restaurants. And while I won't be in downtown DC, it will still be a great experience. The conference goes from friday through tuesday - so it will be jam-packed with meetings, yet there will be lots of fun sprinkled in. We're even going to a Washington Nationals baseball game on Monday night!! Should be a blast!

Lazy Day...

This has pretty much been me, all day long. I had the day off after my long trip, and I've gotten a cold, so I've been on the sofa all day in my undies, watching TV.

VANCOUVER!!

I just got back from a VERY long work trip - a week in Los Angeles, and 4 days in Vancouver. I have to tell you, Vancouver is AMAZING! It's beautiful, and the people are so nice. And the men? H-O-T! I was fortunate to stay in a great boutique hotel called "The Loden". It was a very modern place, and not many rooms - but they were gorgeous. The only bad part about the trip was that Jonathan - my coworker - was sick as a dog, and he in turn made me sick. So my flight home today was not fun. But at least I am home!! And I definitely want to go back to Vancouver.

Home, Sweet, Home!!

Happy Weekend, Everyone! I was in Long Island this week, opening a new store for my company. The family who owns the store could not have been nicer. The father, Marvin, was amazing - and SO nice. His children, Mollie and Matt, were both so much fun. Mollie is a jewelry designer, and so grounded. Matt is so freaking handsome, and so funny. I wish he were gay so I could marry into their family! LOL. This weekend is a brief respite, as I am flying to Los Angeles on Monday night. I'll be there until Friday morning, and then I'm flying to Vancouver to open a new store there over the weekend. I don't get home until Monday night, and thankfully I'm taking tuesday off - and I intend to spend the day sleeping. LOL. Immediately afterwards, we have a work conference in DC from Friday, July 29th until Tuesday, August 2nd. I am tired already just thinking about it!

My Next Car!! 100% for sure!

I freaking LOVE the Mini Cooper Convertible!! When I was on my vacation last week in Rehoboth, my friend Ken was driving his Mom's Mini Convertible, and it is THE most amazing little car! It's perfect for the city (and fitting in SMALL parking spaces!), and it's got great horsepower - so you motor along quickly on the highway. It also comes with great accessories, and is a very safe little car. I love this car, and one of the 3 pictured is what mine will look like. Definitely the black wheels! Not 100% sure yet which color, or with or without stripes, but for now the Top photo (all black, black wheels) is my fave! I want to wait until next summer, but I'm not sure I can wait!

Family Crest

These are 3 images of different family crests/shields that I've found recently. The top one is the one most associated with my last name, Adams. The bottom is a different variation. However, the center shield is new for me. Doing research on my father's actual birth father, I discovered his last name was Sterner, and that he was from a German family named Stern. The top 2 are my faves, and one of them is going to end up as a tattoo.

The others are beach photos, and a pretty good shot of me taken in an outdoor bar called "Aqua". It was a very nice, very relaxing week. And even though I'm peeling all over my body right now, I wouldn't change a thing! It was a great week indeed!
