So yeah, when I got my eyes examined in December, I was told that I'd need to see a specialist because my eye doctor thought that she saw signs for Glaucoma in my right eye. (Joy!) Today, I had my first appointment with the specialist's office. The actual specialist wasn't there today -not sure why - but he had 2 very likable employees there to guide me through the first round of tests. I swear, I had to look at so many lights of different colors, but god forbid "DO NOT MOVE YOUR EYES!" It's unfortunate that whenever you see a blinking bright light, your first instinct is to look directly at it. No! Bad! LOL. I eventually got it right. The final test - which went on forever - was to not move your eyes while looking at yet another orange dot, and click on a "clicker" every time you saw a light in your periphery. I swear I failed that one miserably, but the tech said I actually did very well. I was there for awhile, but the 2nd test (on January 31st) will be much longer, and I'll also have my eyes dilated. If you've never had your eyes dilated, well let me tell you: it sucks! I'm glad it helps them see what they need to see - but the side affects of being VERY sensitive to light, and seeing everything out of focus for a few hours - well, it's not exactly a barrel of laughs! I guess I can only cross my fingers and hope for the best.
