So, I was sick for the past 2 days! No idea what brought it on, but my body woke me up at 2am on tuesday (that's never a good sign!) and from that point on, until 8pm the same day - 18 hours!! - I was running to the bathroom. NOT FUN! Even drinking water to stay hydrated was enough to start my stomach gurgling. I finally fell asleep on the sofa for several hours, then made my way to the bed at 4 am this morning. I took today off work also, and then proceeded to sleep until noon! I'm definitely feeling better now, but I sure as hell hope that I'm not sick like this again for a LONG time.

Today was THE weirdest day! Traffic crawled on the way to the office, so I was a little late. Then everyone was in a cranky mood. Seriously! EVERYONE!! This week my beautiful cousin Shirley lost her battle with lung cancer. She was 52. She was an amazing woman, a great Mom, and recently became a grandmother for the first time. I have many happy memories with Shirley and her 2 bothers and 2 sisters. They became more like siblings to my family than just cousins. When they got together with my brothers and sisters, the 13 of us were inseparable. Her father was in the Air Force, and they were always on the move. I have memories of us visiting them all over the US. She had an amazing husband, and 3 beautiful kids. She and I could always pick right up where we left off - no matter how much time was in between. I visited her at their home in France in 1991 - she opened her home to me, and I can remember staying up late and laughing and telling stories. We took a walk one day, and she grabbed my hand and held on. It wasn't odd for us, but she whispered to me "Just watch my nosey neighbor bitches come outside any minute now. they'll want to know who the handsome man is I'm holding hands with. the man who is not my husband." we said hello, but she never told them who I was. She was amazing! I love you Shirley! (the pic I've posted is the 13 of us together as kids - circa 1968. I'm in the back row on the right - on my sister Anna's lap. Shirley is right next to me, holding my sister Geri.)

Why is it that Tuesday is often more rough than a Monday? I am starting to not hate Mondays like I used to - as Tuesdays are now becoming a day filled with Moodiness. Co-workers are on the edge. Getting up at 5am to hit the gym before work SUCKS! Ok, the gym always sucks - because there's always a new pain arising. But the gym is a necessity. And often, it's good - if only for the Eye Candy! Especially in the locker room! That's my favorite part.

Just saw Underworld: Awakening this afternoon - the fourth movie in the UNDERWORLD franchise. I gotta say, it was pretty good! Kate Beckinsale (Selene) looked amazing as usual, and the movie was action-packed from beginning to end! I loved it. Went with my good friend, Dan - and we agreed it was great to be back in the land of Underworld. Hopefully, if they do a 5th movie, we won't have to wait as long as we did for this installment. But it's definitely a "Must see".
